Cataneo, Danese

Cataneo, Danese a reputable Italian sculptor, was born at Massa di Carrara, flourished about 1555, and was a scholar of Sansovino. His greatest work was the altar and sepulcher of the celebrated Giano Fregoro, in Santa Anastasia, at Florence. He died there in 1573.
