Casnedi, Carlo Antonio

Casnedi, Carlo Antonio an Italian Jesuit theologian, was born at Milan in the second half of the 17th century. After teaching philosophy and theology for some time in his native place, he visited the court of Madrid, and became examiner of the inquisition. He then went to Lisbon, where he became provincial of his order over Lusitania. He died in the first quarter of the 18th century, leaving Crisis Theologica in Selectiores Flujus et Elapsi Sceculi Controversias (Lisbon, 1711). See Hoefer, Nouv. Biog. Géneralé, s.v.
