Caracci, Antonio

Caracci, Antonio (called. II Gobbo), an Italian painter, the son of Agostino, was born at Venice in 1583, and studied under his uncle Annibale. One of his best pictures is a frieze in an apartment of the palace of Monte-Cavallo. He painted several frescos, representing The Life of the Virgin and The Passion of Christ. in San Bartolommeo nell' Isola. He died at Rome in. 1618.
