Caprona, Arcange Lo De

Caprona, Arcange Lo De, an Italian Franciscan and preacher, was born at Palermo, Sicily. At the age of eighteen he entered a Capuchin convent, in spite of the opposition of his family. He preached with ability in the principal cities of Sicily, and founded, at Trapani, three brotherhoods of his order and a public hospital. He died at Trapani in 1577, leaving Statuta et Documentsa pro Confraternitatibu oms D Hospitalis Montis Pietatis et Misericordice in Civitate Drepanensi. See Hoefer, Nouv. Biog. Generale, s.v.
