Buston (or Busten), Thomas Stephen

Buston (Or Busten), Thomas Stephen an English missionary, was born in the county of Salisbury in 1549. After having studied at Rome, he became a Jesuit, and was sent into the East Indies, where he became rector of a college in the island of Salcet, where he remained forty years. He died at Goa in 1619, leaving in Portuguese some linguistic works, for which see Hoefer, Nouv. Biog. Generale, s.v.
