Brus, Anton

Brus, Anton a Bohemian prelate, was born at Muglitz, in Moravia, February 13, 1518. He studied at Prague, where he also received holy orders. In the war against the Turks, 1542-45, he was Austrian chaplain. In 1558 the emperor, Ferdinand I, made him bishop of Vienna, and in 1562 he was raised to the archepiscopal see of Prague.
