Bruce, Robert (2)

an Irish Wesleyan minister, was born at Ballycastle, County Antrim, in 1785. In 1810 he was received into the ministry, and for forty-five years fulfilled his duties with unwearied zeal, courage, faithfulness, and success. He clearly apprehended and lucidly expounded the doctrines of Methodism, was well acquainted with its constitution and history, and well read in the general history of the Church. He was a man of unimpeachable integrity, firmness of purpose, and gentleness of spirit. He became a supernumerary in 1855, and died at his residence in Skibbereen, June 5, 1863.
