Boym, Michel, a missionary of Poland, of the Jesuit order, went to the Indies and to China in 1643, and returned to Lisbon in 1652. In 1656 he again went to China and died there in 1659. This career, wholly evangelical, was filled with useful labors. He wrote Flora Sinensis (Vienna, 1656), and other works. See Hoefer, Nouv. Biog. Generale, s.v.
