Blancas De San Jose, Francisco

Blancas De San Jose, Francisco, a Spanish missionary, was born at Tarragona about 1560. He was successively professor of belles-lettres at the convent of Piedrochita, preacher at Yepes, and missionary to the Philippine Islands. He died in the Indies in 1614, leaving some religious works in their language for the Indian converts, and a work upon the art of learning this language. See Hoefer, Nouv. Biog. Generale, s.v.
