Bell, John (1)

Bell, John (1), an English Wesleyan minister, of Episcopal parents, was born at Hull, Oct. 19, 1788. He united with the Church at the age of fourteen, and was received as a probationer in 1811; he was sent to Newfoundland in 1816, and labored in St. John's, island Cove, and Harbor Grace; returned to England in 1823; became a supernumerary in 1851, and died after much affliction, Oct. 26, 1855.
