Beham (Or Bohem), Bartel (Or Barthelemy)

a German painter, and a very distinguished engraver, was born at Nuremberg about 1496. He was the elder brother of the eminent Hans Sebald Beham, and resided in Italy, where he studied under Marc Antonio Raimoudi at Rome and Bologna. The following are some of his best prints: William, Duke of Bavaria; Bust of Leonarld von Eyck; Adam and Eve, with Death before the Tree; Judith Sitting on the Body of Holofernes; The Virgin Suckling the Infant, very fine;.
