Begue, Lambert

Begue, Lambert a French heretic, lived toward the close of the 12th century. Man, he said, is able to attain to the highest degree of perfection, and may then accord to his body all he wants. He also denied the adoration of the consecrated wafer. He is also said to have preached against the corrupt life of the clergy. SEE BEGHARDS and SEE BEGUINES. — Hoefer, Biographie Generale, 5, 157.
