Bathshua

Bath'-shua a variation of the name of BATH-SHEBA SEE BATH-SHEBA (q.v.), mother of Solomon, occurring only in 1Ch 3:5. It is perhaps worth notice that Shua was a Canaanite name (comp. 1Ch 2:3, and Ge 38:2,12, where "Bath-shua" is really the name of Judah's wife), while Bath-sheba's original husband was a Hittite.
