Batcheller, Breed a clergyman of the Protestant Episcopal Church, was a graduate of Dartmouth College, and was for many years engaged in teaching in Pendleton, S. C., and in Philadelphia. Having been ordained in 1846, he officiated for nearly two years at Radnor, Pa., and for four years at Stanton, Del. The latter part of his life was spent in Maryland, but on account of broken health he was unable to discharge the duties of his sacred office. He died in Baltimore, Md., April 30, 1856, aged forty-nine years. See Amer. Quar. Church Rev. 1856, p. 302.
