Barton, John Graeff Lld

Barton, John Graeff LL.D., a Protestant Episcopal clergyman of the Diocese of New York, was born in Lancaster, Pa. In 1852 he was appointed professor of English language and literature in the Free Academy, New York city. In this position he remained throughout his active life. He died at Hamburg, N. J., May 19, 1877, aged sixty-four years. See Protestant Episcopal Almanac, 1878, p. 168.
