Barry, Basil a Methodist Episcopal minister, was born in Ann Arundel County, Md., March 1, 1789. He joined the Church at the age of sixteen, received license to preach in 1813, and in 1815 entered the Baltimore Conference. In 1844 ill-health obliged him to retire from the active ranks, and he located at Rockville, Md., where he continued to reside until his death, Sept. 2, 1877.
