Artopeeus (Originally Becker), Johann Christoph

Artopeeus (Originally Becker), Johann Christoph a German historian, was born in 1626 at Strasburg. He devoted himself entirely to study, and was canon of the chapter of St. Thomas at Strasburg. 'He died at his native place, June 21,1702. :He published a great number of theses and dissertations, both theological and historical, of which Audiffredi has given a list in his Bibliotheca.
