Aeternales

Aeternales, a name given by'Danaeus, in his edition of Augustine's treatise De Hceresibus, to a sect which is numbered as the sixty-seventh in that work and as the eightieth in Philaster. The Eternales taught that the world will remain forever in its present condition, even after the second coming of our Lord. Augustine remarks that Philaster gives neither the name of the sect nor its originator. The author of Praedestinatus mentions the same tenet as that of a sect which he names Satanniani (q.v.), from one Satannius; but. this name was sometimes given to the Euchites. .
