Adorno, Francesco, an Italian Jesuit, was born at Genoa in 1531, was educated in Portugal, taught and preached with great celebrity in Rome, and died at Genoa, Jan. 13, 1586. He composed on the prayer of St. Charles, of whom he was confessor, a learned treatise entitled De Disciplina Ecclesiastica. The Atbrosian Library has two of his MSS., entitled De Ratione Illustrande Ligurum Historiam, and a treatise on the taxes (De Cambiis). See Biog. Universelle, Supplem. s.v.
