Adelgreif, Johann Albert
Adelgreif, Johann Albert, a German. seer, was born near Elbing.. He was the son of a Protestant minister, and well versed in the ancient languages. He claimed that seven angels had charged him with the work of banishing evil from the earth and of beating the sovereigns with rods of iron. He was arrested at Konigsberg, accused of magic, and condemned to death. His works were concealed. He died Oct. 11,1636. See Hoefer, Nouv. Biog. Generale, s.v.
