Witherspoon, Andrew, D.D.

a Methodist Episcopal minister, was born at Leith, Scotland, May 16, 1808, and emigrated to America with his parents when nine years old. He was converted at sixteen, licensed to preach in 1832, and next year admitted into the Troy Conference, in which he held prominent appointments until his superannuation, in 1877, when he removed to Kansas, and died there, February 9, 1885.
