Wheel of Bells

Wheel of Bells an instrument consisting of a broad wooden wheel to which from eight to twelve silver bells are affixed, rung by a rope at the elevation of the host in certain foreign churches, remarkable examples of which exist at Manresa and Gerona, Spain. The specimen at the former town, placed against the wall of the choir-aisle is contained in an ornamental eight-sided wooden case with Gothic sound-holes; that at the latter, hung against the north wall, is all of wood, its frame being corbelled out from the wall.
