Venn, John

Venn, John a clergyman of the Church of England, son of Henry Venn of Barnes (q.v.), was born at Clapham in 1759. . He was educated at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge; instituted to the living of Little Dunham, Norfolk, in 1783; became rector of Clapham in 1792. He died at Clapham, July 1, 1813. His Sermons, with Memoir, were published in three volumes (181416). He also contributed many valuable articles to the Christian Observer, and wrote some minor works.
