Thursday

Thursday (Anglo-Saxon Thors-daeg, i.e. Thor's Day), the Dies Jovis of the Roman calendar, and sacred, in the Northern mythology, to Thor. It is called in German Donnerstag, thunder day. In the early Church, Augustine complained that some of the Christians persisted in keeping Thursday as a holyday in honor of Jupiter.
