Stevens, Thomas

Stevens, Thomas, a Congregational minister, was born at Plainfield, Conn., in 1723. He was ordained over the Plainfield (Separate) Church in 1746. In 1755 he went as chaplain to the army, contracted a disease, and returned to die at his father's house, Nov. 15, 1755. He is reported to have been a clear and powerful preacher.
