Sherman, John (1)

Sherman, John (1), a Congregational minister, was born at Dedham, England, Dec 26, 1613. He was educated at Emmanuel College, Cambridge. He came to New England in 1634, preached a short time at Watertown, and moved to New Haven, where he was made a magistrate and lived until 1644, when he accepted an invitation to become pastor at Waertown.
