Sadoc

Sa'doc, the Greek form of the name ZADOK SEE ZADOK (q.v.) in the Apocrypha and New Test.

1. (Vulg. Sadoch, the Greek original being lost). The high priest Zadok (2 Esdr. 1, 1); one of Ezra's ancestors (Ezr 7:2).

2. (Σαδώκ, Vulg. Sadoc). The son (great-grandson) of Azor and father of Achim (Mt 1:14) in Christ's ancestry. B.C. cir. 220. SEE GENEALOGY (OF CHRIST).
