Russel, James

Russel, James, a distinguished minister of the Methodist Episcopal Church, was born in Mecklenburg County, N.C., about 1786. He was admitted on trial in the South Carolina Conference in 1805, but located, on account of ill health, in 1815, and died Jan. 16, 1825. Mr. Russel had great power in the pulpit.
