Ross, Arthur

Ross, Arthur a Scotch prelate, was minister of Birse, in the shire of Aberdeen, and was educated at the University of St. Andrews. In 1665 lhe was pastor at Glasgow, where he continued until 1675. He was then promoted to the see of Argyle, whence he was transferred to that of Glasgow in 1679, and to that of Galloway the same year. But he was retranslated to the see of Glasgow October 15, the same year, and thence advanced to the see of St. Andrews, October 31, 1684, where he continued until the revolution in 1688, when he was deprived.
