Ramsey, James (1)

a Scotch prelate, was rector of Hamilton and in 1670 was made dean of Glasgow, He was preferred to the see of Dunblane and to the archiepiscopal see of Glasgow. In May 1684, he was translated from Dunblane to Ross, and here he continued until the abolition of episcopacy in Scotland in 1688. He died at Edinburgh, October 22, 1696.
