Pointer, John

Pointer, John an English divine of some note, flourished in the first half of the 18th century as chaplain of Merton College, Oxford, where he was probably educated, and as rector of Slapton. He published, besides several works of an altogether secular character, Oxonienses Academia (Lond, 1749, 12mo). See Allibone, Dict. of Brit. and Amer. Authors, s.v.
