Mishraite

Mish'raite (Heb. Mishrat', מַשׁרָעַי, gentile, used collectively, from some noun Mishra', מַשׁרָע, perhaps slippery; Sept. ῾Ημασαραείν v.r. ῾Ημασαραϊvμ, Vulg. Maserei, Auth.Vers. "Mishraites"), an inhabitant of a place called MISHRA, alluded to only in 1Ch 2:53, as founded by the descendants of Caleb, and associated with the Ithrites and others, who were in some way connected with Kirjath-jearim; probably therefore a village in the vicinity of this last town.
