Me'res (Hebrews id., מֶרֶס, from the Sanscrit meresh, worthy, according to Beinfey, p. 200; Sept. Μέρες, but most copies omit; Vulg. Mares), one of the seven satraps or viziers of Xerxes (Es 1:14). BC. 483.
