Martin, James, D.D.

an Associate minister, was born at Albany, N.Y., May 12, 1796. He graduated from Union College, Schenectady, in 1819, and after a course in theology in the theological seminary of Philadelphia, was licensed Sept. 2, 1822, and soon after took charge of an Associate Reformed congregation at Albany. He edited the Religious Monitor in 1833. In 1842 he was elected professor of didactic theology and Hebrew in the theological seminary at Cannonsburg, Pennsylvania. He died June 15, 1846.
