Marsh, John

Marsh, John (1), D.D., a Congregational minister, was born Nov. 2, 1742 (O. S.), at Haverhill, Mass. He graduated at Harvard College in 1761; entered the ministry in 1765; was appointed tutor at Harvard in 1771; remained there two years, and was ordained January, 1774, pastor of the First Church, Wethersfield, Conn.. where he died, Sept. 13, 1821. He published a few occasional Sermons. — Sprague, Annals, 1:619.
