Ludolf, Job

Ludolf, Job a noted Ethiopic scholar. also a lawyer and statesman of distinguished merit, was born at Eirfurt, in Thuringia, in 1624. After finishing his education, he spent several years in traveling, and subsequently filled important stations in his native city, and under the elector palatine at Frankfort. He then devoted himself to the completion of his works, of which his Ethiopic History, and his commentaries on it, his Ansharic and Ethiopic Grammarns, and Ethiopic Lexicon, are the most valuable, and have universally met with the highest esteem from the learned.
