Lovejoy, Owen

Lovejoy, Owen a Congregational minister, brother of the preceding, was born at Albion, Me., January 6, 1811. From 1836 to 1854 he was minister in charge of a Congregational Church at Princeton, Illinois. He was elected a member of Congress by the Republicans of the third district of Illinois in 1856 was re- elected in 1858, 1860, and 1852, and is included among the eminent opponents of the slave power. He died at Brooklyn, New York, March 25,1864.
