Loebenstein, Alois, D.D.

a Methodist Episcopal minister, came to America in 1852, and located at Femme Osage, Missouri. He had studied theology at Vienna, and soon was employed as pastor in one of the Evangelical churches. The year succeeding he joined the Methodist Episcopal Church. He was appointed successively to Belleville, Illinois; Newport, Kentucky; Buckeye Street, Cincinnati, Ohio; Indianapolis, Indiana; professor of theology at Wallace College, Berea, Ohio, which position, he held for eight years; Lafayette, Indiana; Toledo, Ohio;. Walnut Street, Detroit, Michigan; Beaubien Street, East Saginaw. He died at the last appointment in 1881. He was a member of the Central German Conference.
