Le Quien, Michael

Le Quien, Michael a Dominican, who was born at Bouloglle, Oct. 6, 1661, was remarkable for his learning in Greek, Hebrew, anl Arabic, and in Oriental Church History. His Joanis Dacmsceni opera (Paris, 1712, in two folio volumes) is a superior edition of that father. His most important work is Oriens Christianus, insuper et Africa, an account of the churches, patriarchs, etc., of the East (3 vols. 8vo), the first part of which appeared before, the second part after the author's death, which took place at the convent in St. Honore March 13, 1733.
