Joceline (2)

Joceline a Scotch prelate, was elected bishop of the see of Glasgow in 1174, and consecrated by Eskilus, archbishop of Lunden, in Denmark, June 1, 1175, in Charavalle. He died at Melrose in 1199. He enlarged the cathedral of Glasgow, and is said to have rebuilt it in the same state it continues, and dedicated it in 1197. See Keith, Scottish Bishops, page 235.
