Heyne, Johann

Heyne, Johann a Roman Catholic theologian of Germany, was born in 1804 at Leobschntz, Silesia. He took holy orders in 1827, acted as priest at different places till 1857, when at his own request he was made custos of the cathedral-library at Breslau, with a view of perusing the archives there. He died October 28, 1871. Hevne is the author of Dokumentirte Geschichte des Bisthums und Hochstiftes Breslau (Breslau, 1860-68, 3 volumes). (B.P.)
