Green, John

Green, John an English prelate, was born about 1706 at Beverly, in Yorkshire, and became, in 1730, a fellow of St. John's College, Cambridge., In 1748 he was regius professor of divinity, and in 1750 was master of Benedict College. In 1756 he was dean of Lincoln, and bishop of Lincoln in 1761. In 1771 he was canon residentiary of St. Paul's. He died April 25, 1779.
