Funeral Service

Funeral Service that part of the liturgy which the Church of England appoints to be read at the burial of the dead. It is said to have been of very great antiquity, and was used both in the Eastern and Western churches. This service is read over all the dead indiscriminately, with the exception of those who die unbaptized, of self-murderers, and those who die under the sentence of the greater excommunication.
