Ferguson, James, LL.D.

a Scotch clergyman, born in Dolphinton, studied at the United College, and graduated at the. University of St. Andrews in 1763; was licensed to preach in October 1768; presented to the living at Dolphinton in September 1772, and ordained April 7, 1773; transferred to Pettinain, February 22, 1780, and died May 18, 1803, aged fifty-six years, much esteemed for his literary abilities.
