Dresser, Charles, DD.

an Episcopal clergyman, was born at Pomfret, Connecticut, February 24, 1800. He graduated from Brown University in 1823; spent some time in Virginia, as tutor in private families; studied theology under bishop Meade, by whom he was ordained; removed to Springfield, Illinois, as rector there; subsequently was employed by bishop Chase in the business department of Jubilee College, in which institution he was, for a time, a professor; and died there March 25, 1865.
