Dobell, John

Dobell, John an English hymnist, born in 1757, was a pious layman of moderate education, who died at Poole, Dorsetshire, in May, 1840, leaving, besides two volumes on Baptism (1807) and Humanity (1812), a New Selection of Hymns (Lond. 1812, 8vo, and later), containing several of his own.
