Deusdedit

Deusdedit (originally Frithona), archbishop of Canterbury, was a West Saxon by birth. His education seems to have been good, but the place where he prosecuted his studies is unknown. He was consecrated March 26, 657, and gave entire satisfaction to the people of Canterbury. He died in 644. See Hook, Lives of the Archbishops of Canterbury, 1:130 sq.
