Davis, Joseph (3)

an English Baptist minister, the son and grandson of ministers, was born in Liver, pool, October 7, 1807. He was baptized at the age of nineteen; entered Horton College in 1827; became pastor at Church-street, Blackfriars; resigned in 1841, and removed to Manchester, where he was pastor of Yorkstreet chapel only eighteen months; then settled at Arnesby, Leicestershire, in 1843; removed to Kent-street chapel, Portsea, in 1854; and to Romford in 1866, where he was stricken with paralysis in 1879, and died October 23, 1881.
