Curtis, William

Curtis, William a Congregational minister, was born in Hoxcy, Lincolnshire, England, May 15, 1798. He first united with the Primitive Methodist Church and entered its ministry; came to Illinois in 1830, and joined the Methodist Episcopal Church, but withdrew in 1832; then organized a church at Albion, and was ordained its pastor; and eventually five other churches. He died June 15, 1877.
