Crosby, John (1)

an English Wesleyan minister, was born at Whitby in 1755. He was converted in 1774, under the preaching of a Church of England minister, and in 1783 Wesley appointed him to a circuit. He labored with great success for twenty-eight years, travelling eighteen circuits, finally settled at Bolton as a supernumerary, and died there, March 29, 1816. See Wesl. Meth.
